First Sip Cafe

One of my absolute favorite places to go to study and drink coffee. The environment is aesthetically pleasing and bright while the seasonal coffee creations keep you coming back for more. This cozy coffee spot has become a popular place to visit in the Argyle area! I can't recommend First Sip Cafe enough.

I love First Sip so much. They have some unique and super-tasty drinks that are great hot or cold. It's a small family-owned place. It's got a great atmosphere.

Good coffee, and a fantastic place to get work done. Plenty of seating and open areas. Nice and quiet.

New favorite place to get work done. It’s so cute in there. They have old-times sewing machine desks to work at. The back area is a little too dim in my opinion to work at, but the place is so clean and cute. I love it so much. Glad to have this tea/coffee shop in the area to work at!! All their lattes are great. Thank you!

It's incredible to finally have a cafe on Argyle that fits right in with the rest of the neighborhood.

I’m visiting from MD and was looking to grab my morning coffee fix. I’m beyond glad I found a local business, First Sip Cafe. Three words to describe this place: Original, Delicious, Quick. I ordered a salted caramel latte, which was made to perfection- velvety smooth and sweet. Then I ordered an Iced Sweet Sip, Mary’s Rose: Black tea with rose and rosemary. I’m so impressed that I’m sipping on it while I write this review.

One of the best cafes to work from, in Chicago. Coffee is good, well lit, good wifi, high rise chairs, commendable interior design, friendly and engaging staff.

Great atmosphere + great service + tasty and reasonably priced beverages = my new favorite spot in the area

Interesting latte choices!

This place is super cute and has excellent coffee and food. The pistachio mint lattes here are the best drink I’ve ever had! I also tried the caprese panini and loved it. My husband got the ham and cheese crescent and said it was delicious. Overall, everything here is tasty and the environment itself is welcoming and comfortable. I’d get one of the pistachio mint lattes from here every day if I could.

It was very busy and the workers did a great job serving all the drinks and food in a timely manner.

Great coffeeshop! The latte flavors are all top-notch and interesting. You won't find Starbucks equivalents here!The atmosphere is very relaxing, too. Very nice staff, great customers. Well decorated - flowers and small teacups all over the place. Tasty treats and convenient location (east of the Argyle red line).

Quaint coffee house with eclectic plant decorations all around. Wifi option, and plenty of plugins. Unique lattes including a delicious spicy mango and mint pistachio that were quite enjoyable on this chilly morning. Offered in hot and cold. Nice patio space in the summer.

I adore this place so much. SO much. Just wish they had less crowded seating and maybe a booth or two instead of the communals.

Had a really enjoyable time at this quirky little cafe. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but once inside, there are tea cups hanging from the ceiling, old cameras on the walls, and a sewing table that two people can sit at. They have some board games to play, and a wide variety of interesting and different drinks to try. I had the Golden Milk this trip, loved it, will be back for more, and can't wait to try their other drinks. Service was friendly and quick, & the vibe was fun and relaxing. The drinks are quite reasonably priced. Definitely get your drinks to drink there, as opposed to getting them to go, so that you can drink from a fun cup, and hang out fer awhile. :-)

Best Tea and Best Coffee shop in Chicago, family owned. Classic drinks you love and many combinations you’ve never heard of. Just look at the photos.Fast WiFi, plenty of spots to work, and the sisters that run this place are awesome. Must try!!

Really cool shop with some interesting drinks. I had the pistachio mint latte, which is pictured in my post. It was divine! The baristas/workers could smile a little more or even display that they're interested in helping you. Other than that, I would definitely go back!

Lovely atmosphere and service, their chocolate muffin is amazing! Very rich Flavor, I couldn’t finish the whole thing, really delicious tho

A little pricey. However, got the ginger tea. Delicious. My friend got the pistachio mint latte, that was delicious too. Great atmosphere. I brought my 2-year with me and one of the employees gave him a piece of chocolate. Would come again.

Cute Cafe with ample seating, Asian influenced coffee flavors such as I've.The space is bright and eclectic. The hanging tea cups creates a beautiful separation of the cooking and dining space, and there were plenty of seating.The ube latte was smooth and flavorful.Metered or free street parking, credit accepted, free WiFi.

Great place to get a cup of special lattes. They have a pretty exciting menu. The only place I had coffee like this was in San Fran. If you are tired of the regular lattes and literally want to spice it up, this is the place to go.

Great little coffee shop. I've only been there in the evening for their music and art shows. Really fun and a great way to get to know the local neighborhood talent. The owners are incredibly inviting too!

One of the best coffee shops in Uptown.

First sip is my favorite cafe near home. Their cold brew is dark and rich. For fast hot coffee, they brew medium and dark roast in the morning.Their signature drinks are really what separates them from the other coffee shops in Chicago. The "golden latte" contains the perfect amount of calming tumeric. The "first kick" is cold brew with a pinch of jalapeno spice.Their baked goods are also fun to try. The pistachio muffin is my latest addiction.Pay a visit, grab a warm drink this winter, and relax as you admire the variety of plants placed around the cafe.

an amazing small business owned by a couple of local argyle residents soon to become a staple of asia on argyle. unpretentious, cute as a kitten and a really special and unique drink selection. <3

I love how cute the environment is inside. You can bring friends and family to play board games that they provide, read books, do work, print papers but most importantly have a variety of food/drinks that you can't find anywhere else. THEY HAVE THE BEST UBE LATTE and my favorite combo with it is to put oat milk. I love the staff as well, so I say it's the best hangout spot💖

This place is awesome! Full of aesthetic whimsy, prompt service, and the drinks are fantastic. On my first visit, I got a delicious, gigantic cookie and a hot golden milk (which I would describe as being a bit like drinking creme of gulab jamun--totally unique and incredibly good!) My partner got a latte, and she assures me that it's "good coffee." I'll be coming back to this place again for sure.

Phenomenal coffee shop, one of my favorites in the city. Huge variety of teas and coffee that I'm still exploring. My current favorite is the pistachio mint which has the most enticing visual appeal with the light hazel colored coffee layered on top of the aquamarine mint that create a refreshing and uniquely delicious taste when mixed together, served both hot and cold.I can recommend the keylime pie as an excellent compliment to the pistachio mint with great cheesecake as well Very unique decor that shows someone has an eye for oddball antiques and cups, in addition to a green thumb with a profusion of plants decorating the front window and countertops. Lots of table space for setting up a lap top to work or to play one of the many board games they have stacked up.If at the Uptown night market, check out their booth for the homemade popsicles that are seriously an amazing dessert, the lavender one being a particular favorite.

Delicious teas and great atmosphere! Perfect place to work on your projects and have meetings!

A hidden gem of a neighborhood cafe with some of the tastiest Asian inspired hot and cold drinks

Perfect coffee shop! The coffee is delicious and the decor is so fun! Can’t wait to come back when it’s warmer to sit on the outdoor seating.

The place is really cute, I love the interior and the ambience. I like what they serve, the limeade is good, coffees are really nice, cheesecake not so much; the crust is just too hard and seems unedible. However, I find the employees very rude. They dont even smile at you while taking orders or while serving you (even if you say something funny) they stare at you. I don't feel as welcome.

Easily one of the most delightful coffee shops in the city and it's so nice to find one that's open late in the winter! The atmosphere is great and the two women who own the place make you feel like family. I love that they experiment with tea and coffee flavors, the ubae latte and wait and sip being the best.

Quaint, quiet peaceful location with amazing coffees and teas. Highly recommended.

I. Love. This. Place. The owner is super friendly, makes tasty drinks (try the Sweet Ginger ... I prefer it cold, even on a cold day). The place has a feel like the owner designed it herself, and it's very homey.

Music selection can be a bit annoying, kind of like 70s rock station, not the easy-to-tuneout moody cafe music you might get elsewhere. Great selection of tea, and a light coffee selection. Really nice space inside with various seating options (couch, side table, large table, window stools, etc.), free WiFi, and free board games in the back.

My first sip will absolutely not be my last!

I am so happy that we finally have nice coffee shopp in Uptown. Also I love that they have patio sitting. Cappucino is great and tasty. Also I love sweet ginger tea, its my new favorite!

Wonderful cozy cafe/tea shop. You might miss it if you aren't looking for it. I had beautiful peppermint and evergreen tea. Fresh evergreen.
